The new archaeology center is located on Main Street in Camp Verde. The mission of the facility is to preserve archaeological sites and collections, while promoting their educational, scientific and cultural uses. The grand opening weekend begins Friday and will last through Sunday.
The mission of the center includes working closely with Native Americans and other cultural groups, while fostering a deeper understanding of human history.
Friday’s grand opening celebration will begin at 5:30 p.m. and include a performance by the Yavapai-Apache Gourd Singers and a ribbon cutting A blessing will be performed by a representative of the Yavapai-Apache Nation.
