Northern Arizona University Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Lisa Campos has been selected to the 2014-15 National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) Board of Directors. It will be Campos’ first year serving on the board.
“I am honored to have been selected to serve on the NACWAA Board of Directors,” said Campos. “I look forward to the opportunity to serve the NACWAA organization.”
Campos has seen her department capture 52 total conference championships. In 2013-14, men’s cross country and men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track & field all captured Big Sky Championships while women’s swimming & diving won its first Western Athletic Conference Championships – and 19 student-athletes combined for 24 individual titles between cross country and track & field in the Big Sky and swimming & diving in the WAC. Beyond championships, the Lumberjacks produced 183 all-conference honorees and 13 student-athletes that combined for 18 All-American honors.
NAU won its second straight Big Sky President’s Cup Award, while earning 117 All-Big Sky Academic honors. In addition, Women’s Tennis and Swimming & Diving earned the APR Public Recognition Award. NAU student-athletes also completed a school-record 4,375 community service hours.
Campos joins Heather Lyke, Vice President/Director of Athletics at Eastern Michigan University and Julie Muller, Commissioner of the North Atlantic Conference, to serve as 2014-15 board of directors members. Lynn Hickey, Director of Athletics at University of Texas-San Antonio, will serve as incoming NACWAA President-Elect and Executive Committee member.
