In honor of military veterans and those currently serving, Northern Arizona Healthcare is hosting Veterans Day celebrations at Flagstaff Medical Center and Verde Valley Medical Center. These celebrations are open to NAH staff and volunteers, as well as veterans and their families in the community.
In Flagstaff, join FMC’s ceremony at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the West Campus flagpole at FMC, 1200 N. Beaver St. After the ceremony, which will feature an appearance by the Northern Arizona University Color Guard, veterans and their immediate families are invited to a free lunch and cake at Café Flag from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A free meal for veterans and their immediate families will also be served in the cafeteria during the evening dinner shift from 5 to 7 p.m., and once more from midnight to 3 a.m.
In Cottonwood, join VVMC’s ceremony at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the main entrance flagpole at VVMC, 269. S. Candy Lane. Mayor Diane Joens will make opening remarks. The Yavapai County Boy Scouts will perform a color guard and flag raising ceremony, and the Emmanuel Fellowship Church ensemble will play patriotic music. A free picnic lunch will be served to veterans, their immediate families and NAH employees from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside under the white tent.
