Sunwest Bank, one of the healthiest community banks in the Western Region of the United States, has hired leading Orange County banker Matt Rogers as Senior Vice President and Team Leader in the Commercial Banking group.
Rogers will manage a team of lenders specializing in rediscount lines of credit for specialty finance companies, along with traditional commercial and industrial business lending. Rogers will be based in Sunwest’s Anaheim office, but will also work frequently with the Flagstaff, Ariz. branches of the bank as well.

Rogers’s most recent Commercial Banking assignment was with 1st Heritage/Mutual of Omaha Bank in Newport Beach, where he served as Senior Vice President and Business Development Officer of Commercial Lending. During his tenure with 1st Heritage Bank Rogers was the top producer for the last three years of his term. Rogers also served at Textron Financial Corporation, City National Bank, and Imperial Bank among other banking institutions. Rogers received his Masters degree in Finance from Brigham Young University and his Bachelors of Arts degree in International Relations from BYU as well.
