The Arizona Department of Transportation will install a new traffic signal at the intersection of US 180 and Fremont Boulevard in Flagstaff later this month. A recent study conducted by ADOT concluded that a traffic signal at the intersection is warranted.
Construction of the signal will begin this month and lane closures will be required to provide a safe work zone. ADOT will issue traffic alerts as needed to inform drivers and area residents of the closures.
Drivers are reminded to allow extra travel time and to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
