The City of Flagstaff Economic Development Offices have in the past contributed to the Flagstaff Business News with articles about programs, events, partners and partnering agencies, and opportunities. This month, the Economic Development staff is providing reminders of behaviors that contribute positively to an individual, a family, a neighborhood, a community and a country.
First, here are some behaviors that everyone may practice every day that will help in good times and bad:
Wash your hands and get plenty of rest.
Take stock of the good things in your life, including the enormous blessing of the awareness of being alive. In other words, practice gratitude.
Share a smile and/or a kind word when you are among other people (at healthy distances during cold and flu season). In other words, practice kindness.
Second, there are a number of tremendous resources that are providing new information, practices and programs to assist people and businesses to understand the climate and culture of COVID-19. Here is a list of credible resources that should serve as your go-to resources for information and programs:
United States Centers for Disease Control: The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website is the best place to go for accurate information about COVID-19, cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/.
Coconino County Health and Human Services: The Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is the area lead and primary point of contact on all matters of COVID-19 in Coconino County, coconino.az.gov/covid19.
SBA Emergency Loan Assistance: The Small Business Administration (SBA) is a federal entity that has small business interests in mind. The SBA has authorized low interest loans for small businesses severely impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), sba.gov/disaster-assistance/coronavirus-covid-19.
Arizona Department of Security (DES): The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) works to ensure that that every child, adult and family in Arizona will be safe and economically secure. During this period of adapting to COVID-19, DES is serving as a warehouse of resources for employees impacted by layoffs and eliminated hours, des.az.gov/services/coronavirus.
The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) also provides resources to employers that may be found at des.az.gov/services/employment/unemployment-employer.
