They’re baaaack! It’s official: the Downtown Library is once again going to be open on Sundays!
Library visitors will now have even more time to study, seek a librarian’s guidance, use computers and print, access the library’s Wi-Fi, check out books, look for movies and music and much more!
This isn’t the first time the library has had Sunday hours. The library had to close its doors on Sundays years ago. Since then, library patronage has grown at an amazing rate. With this increased growth and the desire to reinstate hours, the Flagstaff City Council heard the voices of the community and approved the funds needed to open on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting on Oct. 16.
I’m thrilled to be able to better meet the needs of our community. Reinstating Sunday hours means the public can take better advantage of the library during both the week and weekend.
The Flagstaff Community continues to thrive and population estimates show an increase of 21,000 residents by 2030 (Flagstaff Regional Plan: Demographics). The library is committed to meeting the information needs of today and the continued information needs of tomorrow. FBN
