Coconino County District 5 Supervisor Lena Fowler found a new way to celebrate old values at the 43rd Annual To’Nanees’Dizi Western Navajo Fair here Saturday. This year’s fair theme honored the memory of Chief Manuelito, one of the Navajos’ principle war chiefs and a signer of the Treaty of 1868 who encouraged his people to embrace education. 17 Graduate from NGS Program
Seventeen Navajo men and women graduated last week from the most intense entry training program in the energy industry to become regular employees at the Navajo Generating Station. County Residents Want Higher Education Opportunities
Higher education was the topic of a survey of northern Coconino County communities by Coconino Community College, and the Arizona Hospitality Resource and Research Center at Northern Arizona University. The survey was conducted as part of the college's three-year Strategic Plan, to gather information about the college's image and community expectations for the college.
