Critical Components to the CCC Mission: Partnering, Lifelong Learning
Although the Arizona Legislature showed a commitment to education by supporting public community colleges with one-time funding in the 2019-20 state budget, there is still work for us to do. The temporary nature of that limited funding emphasizes the importance of creating new and expanding partnerships with individual volunteer supporters we call “champions,” businesses, non-profits and government organizations in the communities that Coconino Community College serves. Here at CCC, we’ve been … [Read more...] about Critical Components to the CCC Mission: Partnering, Lifelong Learning

Developing Soft Skills at CCC
I have a rhetorical question for you to contemplate: Why do we use the term “soft skills” to describe skills that are so difficult for many people to demonstrate in the work world? I constantly hear from our partners in business and industry that they need workforce training in soft skills above anything else. According to Dennis Pierce in Community College Journal, “Employers across a wide variety of industries say the so-called ‘soft skills,’ such as problem solving, critical thinking, … [Read more...] about Developing Soft Skills at CCC
