Even though Arizona's weather is still dry and springlike, state officials want Arizonans to prepare for the upcoming severe afternoon thunderstorms which can produce dangerous lightening, high winds and flash flooding. State of Emergency Declaration Bring Cash to County
Governor Jan Brewer today signed a Declaration of Emergency in support of Coconino County response, recovery and mitigation efforts to protect property and infrastructure in the Schultz Flood area. The declaration was signed in response to a heavy monsoon rainstorm that dropped more than 1 inch of rain within 15 minutes in the Timberline, Hutchison Acres and Wupatki Trails neighborhoods on September 13, 2011, causing significant street flooding and damage. State Offering Flood Prevention Funding
Properties impacted by flooding downstream of the Schultz Fire burn area, may see the benefits from state financial assistance.
