Reducing Health Risks While Flying
Booking flights out of smaller airports where there are fewer people is one way I reduce health risks while flying. Further, small aircraft typically service airports like Prescott Regional Airport and Flagstaff Pulliam Airport. With fewer people aboard these regional jets, I believe someone with COVID-19 is less likely to be on the flight. I’ve flown more than 70 legs during the pandemic and have - so far - avoided illness. Here are more ways that I protect myself: Selecting Your Seat You … [Read more...] about Reducing Health Risks While Flying
Flagstaff Pulliam Airport: A Look Back, A Look Forward
When I look back on the first three quarters of 2021, it is with mixed feelings. If we took out the previous two years and looked at our passenger numbers, it was a very good year. Having said that, there were far too many challenges that dim that optimism. We, like all businesses in our community, faced staffing shortages. One of our most important business partners, the rental cars, could not get enough staff and faced their car shortage head on. The airlines faced major staff shortages … [Read more...] about Flagstaff Pulliam Airport: A Look Back, A Look Forward
Growth Continues for Flagstaff Airport
At the beginning of 2020, things were looking promising for Flagstaff Pulliam Airport. It had just come off its best ever year, with a historic 124,000 enplanements in 2019, about 50,000 more than in any previous year. Then the pandemic hit and as the country shut down, the numbers plummeted. Instead of planning for new flights, the airport was looking for ways to assist businesses operating in the terminal. Now as people feel free to move about the country again, Airport Director Barney … [Read more...] about Growth Continues for Flagstaff Airport
Flagstaff Pulliam Airport Receiving Grant
Our community has demonstrated an economic need and a desire for direct airline service beyond Phoenix. As a result, we have been awarded an $800,000 grant to help us bring in a second air service or have our current airline provide additional destinations out of Flagstaff. In the two years that Horizon Air served Flagstaff to Los Angeles, the passenger count grew from 44,000 passengers to 65,000 passengers. After the loss of Horizon Air, securing a secondary air service became one of the … [Read more...] about Flagstaff Pulliam Airport Receiving Grant
