John Sharpe, of The Turquoise Room at Winslow's La Posada Hotel and Gardens, has made the semifinalists' list of Best Chef's released by the James Beard Foundation. The not for profit foundation's purpose is to celebrate, nurture and preserve America's diverse culinary heritage and future. In the chef world, the James Beard is the equivalent of an Academy Award. John Sharpe of Winslow's the Turquoise Room is on the short list of finalists. The Turquoise Room is part of the historic La Posada hotel. Sharpe began his career 50 years ago while still a teen.
