Thunder and lightening have accompanied the start of the region's winter storm. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect until 8:00 p.m. Sunday. The National Weather Service has upgraded storm total amounts to 16 - 24 inches. Motorists are encouraged to avoid travel this weekend. City of Flagstaff: Due to the forecast intensity of this weekend's winter storm the Flagstaff Aquaplex will close at 7p.m on Saturday and will open at Noon on Sunday.
