As Northern Arizona awaits the first significant snowstorm of the season, Coconino County Public Works crews are prepared to keep major roads clear and passable. The President's Day weekend storm brought a lot of snow to Northern Arizona, closing highways and I-17 and causing dozens of slide offs and other accidents. The ski resort, Arizona Snowbowl, is reporting 42 inches of new snow. Amounts in other areas vary. One Flagstaff location measured 12 inches and another 15. Nordic Center Reporting Lots of Snow
While Arizona Snowbowl north of Flagstaff is reporting between 33-48 new inches of the white stuff with more expected this weekend, the Flagstaff Nordic Center has also received plenty of snow. The Nordic Center's Tim Allen tells FBN they have enough snow to keep skiing at the resort viable through the end of March at least.
